Many enjoy rains but enjoying it sensibly is need of the hour. Health issues, skin issues, and other hygiene issues are a matter of concern during monsoons. Sometimes, the most joyful season becomes a troublesome one. So, to cherish good times and create good memories being healthy is a must.

Quick precautions that need to be followed:

  • Stay protected with rainwear like raincoats, umbrellas, hats, and caps so that one can avoid getting wet in the rains and falling sick in the monsoon.
  • Often wash hands especially with clean water and antiseptic soap. Rain also makes the outdoors a breeding ground for bacteria.
  • For better and healthy feet soak and scrub the wet feet clean and dry them well to stay away from fungal infections.
  • Take a hot shower if you get wet, getting drenched in the rains also causes body temperatures to drop drastically which will increase the risk of diseases.

  • Wash and also pay special attention before consuming any fruits and vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables, because during rains they play host for many larvae, and tiny dangerous worms. The best option is to soak them into the saltwater for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse them.

  • Mosquitoes can breed in just 14 days in a little amount of water. If, there is an old flower pot or a rain gutter or birdbath dumping them immediately is the best way.
  • Make sure to use screens on the windows or air conditioning to keep mosquitoes from coming inside the house through the windows.
