Grammy Awards 2016 : Here Are The Winners


Grammy Awards 2016 was held on 15th Feb 2016 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The Grammy award was hosted by LL Cool J. The award is famous and rewarded for the best in pop, rock, country, R&B, Rap and dance music.

Here are the winners of Grammy Awards 2016 with different categories

Grammy awards 2016 1. Album of the Year : “1989” – Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is an American Singer and Song Writer. Winning Album 1989 was the fifth studio album by Taylor Swift.
She also won the Best Pop Vocal Album Award for the same album.



Grammy awards 2016 22. Record of the Year: “Uptown Funk” – Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars
Mark Ronson who also known as Dj Ronson is from England. Apart from being a Dj he is also a song writer and record producer.
He has also won the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Award at Grammy Awards 2016.


Grammy awards 2016 33. Song of the Year: “Thinking Out Loud” – Ed Sheeran
Edward Christopher Sheeran who origins from England. He is great rapper, singer & song-writer. He was nominated for the Album of the year in 2015. However, he got the success in 2016 Grammy Awards with his famous song of the year “ThinkingOutLoud”.
Edward Sheeran again won Best Pop Solo Performance Award at Grammy Awards 2016.


Grammy awards 2016 44. Best New Artist: “Meghan Trainor”
Meghan Trainor is the young artist who had independently released her album at the age of 15 to 17 years. She has been born and raised in Massachusetts.



Grammy awards 2016 5. Best Rock Performance and Rock Song: “Don’t Wanna Fight” – Alabama Shakes
Alabama Shakes is the famous Rock band which got formed in Athens in the year 2009. They were nomainted in the year 2013 and 2014. However the band got a great success in 2016.
They also won the award of the best Rock Song “Dont Wanna Fight at Grammy Awards 2016.


Grammy awards 2016 66. Best Rock Album: “Drones” – Muse
Muse is an English rock band and Drones is their seventh studio album. On 5th June 2015 it was realsed in Europe and on 8th June in UK.



Grammy awards 2016 77. Best Metal Performance: “Cirice” – Ghost
The word Metal itself tells you about the band “Ghost”. They have been winning not only Grammy Awards but also other Awards since 2014. Ghost band is basically a Swedish heavy Metal band.



Grammy awards 2016 8. Best Alternative Music Album: “Sound & Color” – Alabama Shakes
Alabama Shakes is the famous Rock band which got formed in Athens in the year 2009. They have also won the Best Alternative Music Album.


Grammy awards 2016 99. Best R&B Performance: “Earned It (Fifty Shades Of Grey)” – The Weeknd
Best R&B performance Award was won by The Weeknd. He is an Canadian Singer, song-writer and also record producer.



Grammy awards 2016 1010. Best R&B Song: “Really Love” – D’Angelo and the Vanguard
Really Love song is created by D’Angelo as his first solo album. In December 2014 the song was completed and released.

Black Messiah was released on December 15,2014 by D’Angelo and it their third studio slbum. The album was considered one of the best albums of 2014.

Beauty Behind the Madness is created by Canadian singer The Weeknd. It is his second studio album which was released on August 28,2015.



Grammy awards 2016 1313. Best Rap Song: “Alright” – Kendrick Lamar
Alright is a song by Kendrick Lamar by his third album To Pimp a Butterfly. It won the Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at Grammy Awards 2016.



Grammy awards 2016 1414. Best Rap Album: “To Pimp a Butterfly” – Kendrick Lamar
To Pimp a Butterfly was created by Kendrick Lamar and released on March 15,2015. It was ranked one of the best album of the year.




Grammy awards 2016 1515. Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: “These Walls” – Kendrick Lamar featuring Bilal, Anna Wise and Thundercat
These Walls is also by Kendrick Lamar. The song was of the album Pimp a Butterfly ans was released on October 13, 2015.

Traveller is debut of Chris Stapleton who is an is an American born. The album was released on May 5,2015 and was produced by Dave Cobb. The album also won Best Country Album at Grammy Awards 2016.

Girl Crush was released on December 2014 by Amrecian music group Little Big Town. The song is from Pain Killer album.



Grammy awards 2016 1818. Best Dance Recording: “Where Are Ü Now” – Skrillex and Diplo with Justin Bieber
Where are Ü Now song is created by Skrillex and Diplo and the features vocal is by Justin Bieber. The song is under Purpose album which was released on February 27, 2015.


Grammy awards 2016 1919. Best Dance/Electronic Album: Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü – Skrillex and Diplo
Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü album is debut by Skrillex and Diplo. The album won the Best Dance/Electronic Album at Grammy Awards 2016.




The show lasted for three hours with great performances by Taylor Swift, Adele, the Weeknd and the cast of Hamilton, among many others.
