Mitchell Johnson retired from International Cricket. He was born on 2nd November, 1981 at Townsville, Queensland, Australia. He is an Australian left arm fast bowler and left handed batsman. He was awarded the “Cricketer of the Year” in 2009 and “Test Player of the Year” in 2014 by ICC. He played an important role in the semi-final and final matches of ICC World Cup 2015 which led Australia winning the World Cup for the fifth time.

  1. 5/26 Vs India, Vadodara, 2007

In this match against India, Mitchell Johnson took five wickets by dismissing the strong batsman’s like Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, MS Dhoni, Irfan Pathan and Murali Vijay. It was because of him that India was booked on a total of 148 runs in 39.3 overs. Australia won this match by losing just one wicket. This was Johnson first five wickets in a match in ODIs.

In this test match against New Zealand, he took a total of nine wickets. In the first innings, he took four wickets and five wickets in the second innings. Australia won this match because of Johnson’s brilliant bowling performance and they won by 149 runs.

 

 

  1. 8/61 Vs South Africa, Perth, 2008

This was his best performance and one of the best bowling we all can see. In just 20 deliveries, he took five wickets by giving only two runs. He was ripping the heart out of the South Africa’s batting. Bowling fast, he derailed South Africa from 234/3 to 281 all out.

After losing a series against South Africa, Australia was pumped up to take their revenge over their loss. Because of Mitchell Johnson, Australia got the lead of 242 runs in the first innings. He dismissed four players in the first innings as well as in the second innings. Australia won this match and South Africa was defeated very badly.

Johnson has been considered as the Perth Specialist, where no one can beat him. He is damn crazy and furious at Perth. Because of his spells England collapsed from 78 without loss to 98/5 and later on he took the last three wickets for just one run.

 

  1. 6/31 Vs Sri Lanka, Pallekele, 20116

Johnson’s best effort bowled out Sri Lanka to a big victory in the first match of the ODI series. In his first spell in the match, he took the wicket of Mahela Jayawardene and then Sangakkara got out with a slower ball.

 

 

 

  1. 4/61 & 5/42 Vs England, Brisbane, 20137. 49811120

In this test match, he dismissed four wickets in the first innings by taking the wickets of Michael Carberry, Jonathan Trott, Joe Root and Swann. In the second innings, he was more furious than the first innings and because of his bowling, the match was off inside four days. For this he was awarded the Man of The Match.

 

  1. 7/40 Vs England, Adelaide, 2013

This is one of his epic spells that he and all will remember. His brilliant performance stunned everyone and was good to watch his amazing pace. He dismissed Ben Stokes, Prior, Broad, Swann, Anderson, Monty Panesar, etc.

 

  1. 7/68 & 5/59 Vs South Africa, Centurion, 20149

In this test match, Johnson took seven wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second innings which brought Australia to a 281 run victory against South Africa. Australia won the series by 2-1.

 

  1. 3/53 & 3/27 Vs England, Lord’s, 201510

In this match, the dismissal was at the good points. Australians were trailing 481 runs and they were in danger. It was Johnson who bowled fast and took wickets. He dismissed Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes and Cook and brought Australia into the match.
