The Tourism Ministry on Wednesday issued advisory to all states wherein it has issued guidelines putting a restriction on taking selfies in front of national memorials from August 12 -18, due to upcoming Independence Day.

The Tourism Ministry on Wednesday issued advisory to all states wherein it has issued guidelines putting a restriction on taking selfies in front of national memorials from August 12 -18. The advisory issued to all states is a part of security measures being taken in view of Independence Day and “Bharat Parv” events. After getting inputs from security agencies about high threat perception to Prime Minister Narendra Modi this Independence Day, the Delhi Police has demarcated and deployed security personnel around 3,140 trees in and around the Red Fort premises as a part of an extensive security cover. The security agencies had intercepted communication about the possible use of drones to breach the Prime Minister’s security cordon during the Independence Day.
The ‘Bharat Parv’ is to be a grand event showcasing a cultural spectacle. The main aim of the event is to promote a spirit of patriotism among citizens. Bharat Parv will also include various shows put up by artistes of different regions along with a performance from the band of the armed forces. The various cuisines and handicrafts of all the different regions in India will be put up for display.
