  • Each one of us is aware by now having blended these life-saving necessities that cost nothing into our day-to-day living effortlessly. Yes, I am referring to social distancing norms, wearing of masks, frequent handwashing using sanitizers/soaps, avoiding large gatherings, resisting urge to visit places casually, evading unnecessary movements including long-distance travel, etc.  The government authorities are vocal and aggressive in disseminating the information for the overall well-being of all of us.
  • Not much of a big ask looked from any angels. Demands nothing more than self-discipline to follow the norms in the absence of any other means or ways to defeat the raging virus, including an effective vaccine that is still many months away from discovery.  As the entire country witnesses alarming surge breaking the previous day’s infection count, the healthcare infrastructure is experiencing tremendous strain.  As if on cue, the gaping shortfall in treating the infected is made known to one and all in no uncertain terms by the media platforms.

  • This being the case, the onus should also be equally shared by all of us too in aiding the authorities to combat the menace from further denting the country’s economy and in turn our livelihood. When the very existence and survival appear to stand on shaky ground, blatantly violating the prescribed norms should be the last resort for anybody responsible to indulge in. Unlock measures introduced recently have resulted in scores of people resorting to violating the norms.  This is a huge cause for concern for sure.
  • People wearing masks that drop to the chin is such a common sight that it defeats the very purpose of the protective cover meant to guard the individual. It is not out of place to reiterate yet again that the mask not only protects self but also helps others from getting affected by us. Period. One may never know there might be immune-compromised people who would be probably risking their lives if we tend to let our guard down during interactions.  Humble request to diligently follow safety and health norms and impress upon others too to observe the same.
