The glaciers near the Earth’s poles are melting, and this is resulting in the rise of sea level which is partly slowing down the Earth’s rotation. This will further result in the increasing in the length of our days – as per a new study. Read On,

1. Detailed study of the Past changes in the sea level

In order to make accurate future predictions, scientists are studying the past changes in sea level, as the climate change has had drastic changes and consequences, they are looking down to Earth’s core to get accurate results.

2. Understanding the dynamics of the flow in Earth’s core

Mathieu Dumberry – a professor at the University of Alberta in Canada said that in order to have a complete understanding of the sea-level change which has occurred in the past century, they need to understand the dynamics of the flow in core of Earth.

He added that over the past 3000 years, speeding of the Earth’s core is noticed, and the mantle which is the crust on which we stand is actually slowing. And further the cumulative effect will add up over time

3. What slows down the rotation?

The water which is a result of the melting glaciers are not only causing the rise in sea-level, but are also shifting mass from the pole towards the equator, this is slowing down the rotation process.

4. Moon’s gravity pull also contributing

The gravity pull from the Moon is also contributing to the slowdown, it is acting a little like a leaver break. But, the amalgamation of these effects is not sufficient enough to explain the actual observations of the slowing down of Earth’s rotation.

5. What will be the consequence?

The consequence of Earth rotating more slowly, will result in the increased length of our days. It is is slowly increasing. As per researchers, it is estimated that a century from now, the length of a day is expected to increase by 1.7 milliseconds.

By the end of 21st century the scientists who are involved in the study are very confident in predicting sea level. They say that this can help in the better preparation of the coastal towns to cope with climate changes.

  1. I’m the proprietor of JustCBD Store company (justcbdstore.com) and I’m presently looking to develop my wholesale side of company. I really hope that someone at targetdomain is able to provide some guidance . I thought that the most effective way to accomplish this would be to reach out to vape shops and cbd stores.
