India England Series is Done and Dusted, on to Ipl Now!

  • The long drawn out India-England series that started with the Test series, T20Is, and finally, 50 over ODIs has culminated with the host nation comfortably registering wins in all three formats of the game quite comprehensively. The domination displayed by the Indian team in every department of the game is heart-warming foretelling insightful strength of the cricket structure in the country. By no means, the visiting England team was incompetent as the visitors were mostly up to the task giving an admiration-worthy run for the money display of competitiveness. Team India finally emerged victorious fighting tooth and nail.

  • All avid cricket enthusiasts would recollect that the first Test of the series was won by England, and following the defeat, Team India was simply unbeatable gaining strength as the series progressed. The T20Is too was keenly contested before the host team emerged winners in the series. Likewise, the three ODIs were evenly contested with run-fest ensuring the fans were not deprived of the fun elements expected in the shorter versions of the game. One obvious factor that came to the fore during the series was the bench strength of the home team who were well served by like to like replacement of players as the situation warranted owing to injuries and other personal reasons.
  • It is extremely satisfying to note that the way the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invested in the development of cricket infrastructure deserving wholesome lauding as the fruits of those earlier decisions by the visionary leaders is bearing results much to the appreciation of other cricket playing nations. The bench strength of Team India is such that the pundits are not mincing in words whilst mentioning India can easily field two equally competitive teams in any tournaments. Of course, such a hugely populated country like ours is bound to produce more quality cricketers is stating the obvious since the game is no less than religion here. The massive following enjoyed by the game is simply unparalleled.

  • There is also no denying the fact that the incredibly popular T20 Indian Premier League (IPL) has essayed an equally formidable role in further popularising the game of cricket where talented youngsters not only get picked by the franchise-based format at a very young age but also provide a platform to showcase skills alongside some of the best international standard cricketers. Any eye-catching performances on such a big stage are bound to be noticed by the selectors and many talented cricketers have indeed broken through the ranks to make it big.
