Many people go through that phase of life where they want to lose weight desperately and then take the route they feel to be the easiest. I said ‘phase’ because most of them give it up easily as they take it up! They end up giving up mostly because they find that it yields no result. Because, they hardly eat anything and have also given up breakfast! This type of grave dieting mistakes can cause harm to the body. Dieting doesn’t mean to starve you. So, here is a list of 7 lesser known grave dieting mistakes:

This is one thing which everyone tends to do. Skipping breakfast is indeed harmful in the long run. Ideally, breakfast must contain 3 elements – fibre, carbohydrates and sugar.

 

 

 

Dieting mistakes2. Intake of fruits and nuts in large quantities!

Eating too much of ‘healthy foods’ like fruits and nuts might not actually prove so healthy. Many fruits and nuts contain high sugar and fat content; and thus, add more fat to the body, rather than decreasing it.

 

 

Dieting mistakes3. Always giving preference to salad!

Contrary to the popular belief, going for the salad might not always be the best option. So, instead a sandwich and healthy soup or tossing a serving of lentils and brown rice is more beneficial.

 

 

 

Dieting mistakes4. Consumption of excess protein!

Yes, protein indeed helps in building muscles; but when you have it in excess amount, and then it gets stored in the body as fat. So, having protein in the controlled doses is the key.

 

 

 

Dieting mistakes5. Sleep deprivation!

If you are getting less than 5-6 hours of sleep; then your metabolism tends to slow down and thus cause hormonal changes. Also, due to sleep deprivation, if you remain tired; you tend to eat more!

 

 

Dieting mistakes6. Avoiding carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates curb your hunger pangs, so eliminating those from the diet altogether can make you feel hungrier. And, as a result you will probably end up eating more than what your body usually requires.

 

 

Dieting mistakes7. Substituting food by consuming protein bars.

Yes, ‘fake food’ like protein bars is convenient; but they do not really satisfy hunger. At the same time, they also contain high amount of sugar and corn, and thus are just a great load of processed stuff.

 

 

Even, not having enough water because you are having too much juice is also a grave dieting mistake as there is indeed no replacement for water!
