Not that traditional entertainment mediums like cinemas, theaters, television, and live performances have been consigned to the back burner, you see. What cannot be discounted is the power of the OTT to scale up from a hitherto confined medium to a lesser-known audience, which received a humongous fillip in the recent past.

- As consumers, we are spoilt for choice in opting for what to consume on the OTT platforms. However, after diligently savouring the various bouquets of content available, it can be safely mentioned that Korean dramas must rank among the best in the business. Whether it be the production values, canvas, content, acting, screenplay, scriptwriting, editing, direction, style, and marketing, the Korean dramas are simply top-notch. Whatever the genre, the K-dramas have set such a benchmark for other equally impressive industries dishing out entertainment content for the ever-unsatiated consumers that it is bound to lead to a competition that only augurs well for all stakeholders involved. It gets interesting once we dive deeper into these aspects.

- Personally speaking, and as an Indian, the K-Dramas are not only closer in several aspects to our sensitivities, but also emotionally/culturally/traditionally as well. The strong emphasis placed on familial background, the middle-class depiction of prevailing travails, easily identifiable day-to-day happenings/occurrences, local cuisine/food habits forming an inalienable part, and the stylized picturization with impeccable grooming standards make K-Dramas a delight to partake in. The more one indulges in watching the content, the more one would start appreciating what is on offer. Inarguably, the K-Dramas, whether it is thriller/crime/legal/family drama/action, will not disappoint the viewers one bit. The good news is that they can only get better. No complaints.
