Get Sharing with Spotify on your Facebook Messenger

To try this new feature, just tap the More icon on the messenger (displays as three dots) while you’re chatting, then simply choose Spotify. This will quickly take you directly to Spotify, where you can search for favourite music that you want to share from within the music app. Once the user has made their choice he/she will be directed back to Messenger. Then they can share the photo of the cover artwork in their chat. When the receive taps that photo, they can listen to the song on Spotify directly.
2. Share songs, artists, or entire playlists
With this new feature, just tap and “Open” to hop over to Spotify and start listening to your favourite music tracks. You can now simply share songs, artists, or an entire playlist. The music will begin to play automatically after Spotify opens, once the music content is shared between users.
3. Available for iOS and Android users only
Currently according to news reports, this feature is only available for iOS and Android users.
Facebook integration with Spotify is not the first integration; the company was fairly criticized several years ago for displaying peoples’ friends what they were listening to. Seemingly, music is quite personal.
First Uber and now Spotify, Messenger is making advances to provide users an all-in-one platform
Already Spotify have their own sharing option for sending songs, playlists and artists to the other Spotify users. But with this new Facebook Messenger feature, sharing music with friends will become more quick and easy.
The feature comes post Facebook began testing Uber integration within Messenger in December. This allowed the users request a ride without leaving their chat in between. Currently, this feature is available only to select users, like locations where Uber operates in the U.S.
For the moment, Facebook has been busy beefing up its Messenger application with many other new features, like video calls, GIFs, and also the ability to send money to other people.
