NASA moves one step ahead to sending humans beyond the moon. The Orion spacecraft pressure vessel is already now and will be transported to the Kennedy Space Center.

1. About the Announcement
NASA, announced on Monday that the Orion spacecraft pressure vessel, which is an underlying structure that seals off a chamber for astronaut life support, is all set and ready for transport. The unit was completed in mid of January.
2. Transported to Kennedy Space Center in Florida
The Orion spacecraft pressure vessel will travel in NASA’s Super Guppy aircraft. It will be transported to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida from the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans where it was built.
3. Vessel to undergo many tests
Once this spacecraft reaches Florida, it will face a barrage of tests before it is added to the assemblage. The spacecraft will be a craft designed specifically to carry astronauts to deep space, with a special eye on Mars.
A Step Closer to reach the moon and even beyond….
Post completion of this unit in mid of January, Mike Sarafin, the manager of Orion’s first mission, said that they have started off the year with an key step to their process to get ready for Exploration Mission-1, when together SLS and Orion will travel even beyond a spacecraft built for humans has ever travelled.
This is an achievement that brings them even more closer to their goal of testing their deep space exploration systems in the proving ground of lunar space before they can begin to send the astronauts days to weeks from Earth.
NASA First Exploration Mission-1
1. In this mission it will not carry the astronauts, but is a sort of test run for the Orion and NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.
2. The Orion spacecraft is set to fly beyond any spacecraft built for humans has ever gone before.
3. This is the first trip, which will be about three weeks long.
4. The engineers will get a chance to evaluate the spacecraft before humans climb aboard.
5. The area which will be used in this first trip is the area just past the moon, known as the lunar vicinity.
6. They will test how Orion’s technologies in this space environment are more similar to deep space than Earth’s orbit.
Mike Sarafin said that this mission that truly do what hasn’t been done and explore the unknown.
