- Except for the 50-over World Cup that we lost to the Australians in 2024, Team India has performed admirably in the subsequent T20 World Cup by winning it hands down, and now, the Asia Cup T20 tournament in Dubai by beating the Pakistani team handsomely. - Of course, any India and Pakistan cricket matches always have that extra edge, rivalry, competitiveness, and unbridled emotions. The past encounters have showcased this aspect to the cricket crazy fans around the world. However, the way Team India trounced Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup mirrors the gulf between the two teams, leaving no doubts whatsoever about who is superior. That Team India trounced Pakistan thrice in the Asia Cup duly asserts the fact that there remains no competition worthy of mentioning since the performances were dominated by the former hands down. Mind you, this domination was achieved despite the two stalwart performers in Jasprit Bumrah, Shubhman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav, performing below par. One of the most satisfactory emergences for the coaching staff and the captain must be the way all-rounder Shivam Dube rose to the occasion, delivering both with the ball and the bat. Batter Tilak Varma showcased why he is rated so highly by the cricket pundits, bailing out Team India twice when it mattered most. Keeper-batter Sanju Samson proved what an untapped talent he is. Spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel were outstanding, strangling up the opposition batters with their versatility and variations. Team India is on the rise. Cricket crazy fans won’t complain, though.
