The latest disturbing reports emerging suggests there are few unscrupulous anti-social elements in some private diagnostic facilities in Bengaluru who are reporting faulty COVID-19 positive test results, brazenly playing with the already stressed out innocent people scared of the virus.

- Having no symptoms and doubting the veracity of such reports, many instances have come to light that people are forced to seek a second testing report which invariably confirms negative for the infection. These damning incidents demonstrate the existence of unholy nexus between the private diagnostic labs and concerned officials targeting innocent people to fleece money. Nothing can be gross and inhuman than the despicable practice seen when ethos, morality, and conscience should be the guiding light during present critical times.
- The pandemic has rendered every individual, irrespective of professional or business interests, so distressed owing to loss of revenue, jobs, failures, loss of lives & property, and many unmitigated problems posing tremendous challenges to survive. Survival under trying circumstances itself is quite upsetting and adding to the misery is to know that one is infected with the dreaded virus owing to faulty reportage will leave anybody numb. No wonder, many traumatized have taken their own lives.

Trust me, ill-intentioned efforts to rub the society the wrong way with the sole intention of raking in blood money tantamount to no less than treachery and hideous acts. As such, these perpetrators should face stringent action setting a credible deterrent as well as precedent.
