  • Elaborating further, there also exists divide vis-à-vis rich/poor, have/have-nots, upper caste/lower caste, public/private, city/village, powerful/not-so-powerful, and of course, Bharat/India and many more indescribable diversities mirroring the beauty of how we the countrymen are bounded by intangibles and subjective narratives extremely hard to describe. In the present prevailing situation where the economy is reduced to subjugation by the pandemic wrought havoc concerning the above, welcome silver linings are emerging as well.
  • No one dare question the importance of imparting education to our next generation students even during challenging situations. Remember, the nation’s growth is directly proportionate to the quality/health of the vital sector to ensure we all move towards prosperity incommensurate with the present-day requirements. • As our public education infrastructure always was made to undergo catching up with the popular/attractive/efficient/result-oriented but expensive private institutions, clamoring for enrolling their wards at a premium caught up big time with the parents from every walk of life. Cannot fault as each one of us reserves the right to not only dream big but also access every opportunity available under the sun to ensure our wards are provided with facilities to carve out a respectable niche in the society’s eyes.
  • As the saying goes, life has come full circle, reports are emerging from some districts of Karnataka that the pandemic induced hardships have subdued many a private schools dysfunctional owing to parents’ inability to pay up. In the same vein, once despised public schools are witnessing enrolment from the very parents who were loath to consider sending their wards to such schools. Except for people who could afford to send wards to expensive private schools at metros and other tiered cities, this trend of migrating to public schools might scale up in the coming days.
  • This being the case, it begs question as to why the public schools should not be strengthened in the first place by provisioning infrastructure and quality education to attract newer students as well as retain the enrolled too. Time and occasion are ripe to apply all our might to spruce up this sector that is tasked to churn out tomorrow’s growth stories. The government is advised to act now for the golden opportunity presented itself should not go begging.
