The New Year has started. Now, it is the time to analyze the previous year’s balance sheet. We have achieved new successes in several fields. Similarly, we have lost many people in the last year. The year 2015 saw several tragic deaths; some of them were big names. Here are some notable personalities we lost, who belonged to different fields such as arts, social activities, games, defense, politics, and so on.

  1. Colonel M.N. Rai

 Colonel M.N. Rai

On January 2015, Col. Munindra Nath Rai, age 39, commanding officer of 42 Rashtriya Rifles, gunned down by terrorists in a deceive act. The relative of terrorists asked for surrender and the terrorists as their propensity, started firing in-indiscriminately leading to the death of colonel and a police man.

 

 

 

  1. Sanjeev Kumar Singh 

Sanjeev Kumar Singh

Head constable Sanjeev Kumar Sing, who was accompanying Col. M. N. Rai, was killed in the same encounter when the deceiver terrorist asked for surrender.

 

 

  1. R. R. Patil

R.R. Patil

One of the tragic deaths the last year saw was that of R.R. Patil. He was a member of Nationalist Congress party and a former home minister of Maharashtra state. He was suffering from oral cancer and passed away at the Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai on 16 February 2015 (aged 57). His tragic death left the entire party in pain.

 

 

 

 

  1. Govind Pansare 

Govind Pansare

Yet another notable personality in the list of tragic deaths of 2015. Govind pansare have been a left wing politician and activist of the communist party of India (CPI). He was best known for his book, the biography of 17th century ruler Shivaji, Shivaji Kon Hota. He was shot dead by an activist said to be the rightwing group Sanatan Sanstha on February 20, 2015 (aged 81) in Mumbai.

 M.M. Kalburgi

Malleshappa Madivalappa Kalburgi was an Indian scholar, who served as vice chancellor of Kannada University in Hampi. He was shot dead by un-identified men in the morning of 30 August 2015. Kalburgi provoked the anger of some so called religious groups. One of the tragic deaths that shook the country as it raised serious questions on some extremist groups.

 

 

 

  1. Adesh Shrivastava 

Adesh Shrivastava

One of the most shocking and tragic deaths of the last year. Bollywood music composer and singer Adesh Shrivastava, who was suffering from cancer for last 5 years, passed away in Mumbai on September 5, 2015, a day after he turned 51. Though, he did not smoke and also quit drinking, his cancer relapsed for the third time.

 

 

  1. Jagmohan Dalmiya

 Jagmohan Dalmiya

The Indian cricket administrator, and businessman Jagmohan Dalmiya passed away on 20 September 2015. He was the BCCI president when he died. He was admitted to the hospital due to the complaint of chest pain.

 

 

 

  1. Saeed Jaffrey 

Saeed Jaffrey

Some tragic deaths move the whole world and Saeed Jaffrey’s death is one of them. Versatile actor and strong performer on screen Saeed Jaffrey breathed his last on 15 November 2015 at the age of 86. He was in London when he died. He was suffering from age-related problems.

 Sadhna

Sadhna Shivdasani is famously known as Sadhna, was an Indian actress who was one of the top actresses in late 1960 ( Woh Kaun Thi?, Waqt, Mera Saaya and Anita and a long list of super hit movies.) and early 1970. She passed away on December 25, 2015 at the age of 74 in Mumbai.

Hema Upadhyay an Indian artist, was known for photography and sculpture work. She died on 11 December 2015 at age of 43 in Mumbai. It has been reported that she and her lawyer was murdered over a financial dispute. Her tragic death shocked the financial capital.
