- The Pakistani deep state establishment led by the intransigent and war-mongering military generals should realise that the present Indian leadership will not bow down to terror tactics or other diabolical means hitherto perpetrated from across the border. The resolute Prime Minister-led Union Government will set the tone for the narrative on how things will unfold since the heinous and cowardly Pahalgam attack was first initiated by Pakistan. Pakistan generals appear to be stuck in a time warp, completely unaware of and ignorant about how India has progressed exponentially on all parameters. Right from the economic dominion to strengthening defence forces on the back of sustained progress, India has left Pakistan way behind.

- Even militarily, India’s fighting inventory is superior to Pakistan’s in comparison. Pakistan’s repeated attempts to breach India’s defences at various points along the International Border in the last three days have proved that India is positioned supremely ahead. In contrast, Indian forces, in response to Pakistan’s failed targeting of military installations, pierced Pakistani air defence systems with Israeli-origin Harop and Harpy drones, knocking out the air defence system in Lahore – reportedly a Chinese-supplied HQ-9. Drones are another area where India punches way above Pakistan. While New Delhi is marching towards becoming a drone manufacturing hub, Islamabad has no comparable industrial depth and must rely on Turkish and Chinese drones.

- Despite fully knowing that the hyphenation between the two countries has long ceased to exist, Pakistan’s attempt to take on the Indian forces should be termed as foolhardy. The moot point to ponder over here is why the international leadership is not exerting enough pressure on the Pakistani establishment about the folly of pressing ahead with precipitative actions. Such measures will be counterproductive for a country tottering on the brink of economic meltdown and growing domestic challenges in the form of inflationary trends singeing the people from all corners. The whole world is aware of how Pakistan is being bailed out by repeated IMF dole-outs to ensure that the total collapse of the economy will not plunge the country into an abyss.

- Unfortunately, the extremely illogical generals are pressing ahead with their agenda of perpetrating cross-border terrorism in India as well as making every effort to precipitate a war-like situation to further flare up. Given these metrics, Islamabad can ill afford to carry out a long-drawn-out conflict with New Delhi. It simply doesn’t have the resources. Mind you, it’s likely to run out of ammo if it chooses an escalatory matrix. India’s solid ordnance base ensures no such concerns. Note also that Pakistan’s iron-brother China has been very careful not to get dragged into the conflict. Thus, Pakistan is playing a losing game here. India’s economic size, ability to absorb the fallout of conflict, and far greater conventional military depth give us a clear edge.
