  • Team India is on a roll in the ongoing 50-over cricket World Cup needs no further elaboration. The way Team India has demolished every opposition so far in the eight league matches is not only mindboggling but also inspires tremendous confidence among the rooting fans to go the distance to lift the coveted Cup yet again. The ridiculous ease with which every opposition right from Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa has been steamrolled by Team India makes one wonder whether the hosts are playing an entirely different level of cricket in comparison to others. There appears to be no competition or challenge to halt Team India by any of the opposition teams who look bewildered by the relentless onslaught perpetrated against them.

  • If you look back, the only occasion when Team India was in a spot of bother was the very first match, they played against Australia in Chennai. While chasing, Team India was three wickets down for hardly anything on the board, but Virat Kohli and KL Rahul ensured the initial hiccups were addressed with great aplomb. Ever since that match, Team India has emerged stronger by showcasing an amazing array of skills in every department of the game. Be it batting, bowling, and fielding, Team India has been on the button leaving no scope whatsoever for the opposition to claw back into the match. Whether chasing or setting a target, Team India has shown equal prowess to cross the hurdle with panache. Indeed, it’s sheer domination.
  • Before dissecting the nitty gritty of performances, let’s accord due credit to the captain Rohit Sharma for not only showing astute leadership skills on the field while strategizing every move but also for setting an attacking template right at the beginning of the innings. In all the matches played so far, Rohit has shown his no-holds-barred attacking instincts to take on the opposition bowling. The ease with which he is pulverizing the opposition’s bowling attacks by clearing the boundaries at will is simply breathtaking. Yes, he has scored only one century against Afghanistan but has invariably given a flying start to the Indian batting by scoring briskly at the top. He has made sure that the batsmen following him are not troubled by the run rate at all.

  • No wonder, Virat Kohli was able to bat freely without taking any undue risks in the middle overs. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have played to their potential, contributing to the team’s cause. We know it’s the bowlers who win the matches, and what a splendid performance Team India’s bowlers have showcased in the tournament so far. Led by the at-times unplayable and lethal Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and on-fire Mohammed Shami, Indian bowlers are presenting such hostile spells that it’s a treat to watch them unleash terror among the opposition batters. The spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadava are equally mesmerizing bamboozling the batters with their guile. Is something special in the offing? Next few days will give us an answer.
