· The other tribes of Arunachal Pradesh usually practice dry land cultivations which can be achieved only by clearing the forests and burning the jungles.

· Apatani tribal people once practiced the art of facial tattoos.

Apatani tribal people can speak the Apatani language followed by Hindi and English languages as well.

Festival in Ziro Valley

Ziro valley also got included in India’s Tentative List for UNESCO’s World Heritage Site because it preserved the ecology and high growth in productivity. Ziro valley festival is a blend of customs and traditions that are also as distinctive. Animistic ceremonies, murung rituals, colorful dances, and delicious feasts are common in all celebrations and that completely promises to provide an enchanting treat to all the travelers and tourists who are hungry for an insight into varied quirky cultures.

Ziro valley festivals are mainly two that are Dree and Myoko. Dree is called the “Agricultural festival” which is, celebrated in the month of July. The main cultural programs performed in the Ziro valley festival are the different dance forms called Paku-Itu, Daminda, Pierre dance and, many more.

Myoko is also a Ziro valley festival that is celebrated in the name of friendship similar to modern friendship day but unlike the Dree festival that lasts only for a day. Myoko is celebrated for almost a month-long which begins from the end of March month to the end of April.

Apart, from these two Ziro valley festivals, a new festival was also launched in the year 2012 called the “Ziro Music Festival” which has major contributions in giving this enchanting valley on an avid traveler’s map. Music lovers all around the world travel here. The top-most national & international music bands and folk artists from every corner of the world now travel here during this festival which is, celebrated in the month of September. The climate in Ziro village Arunachal Pradesh

The climate in Ziro is mild throughout the year which makes it quite comfortable to travel all year round. The climate in Ziro is largely impacted by the nature of terrain depending upon the location and altitude of the place. Ziro climate is broadly divided into four seasons in a year:

· The winter season is mainly from December to February.

· The pre-monsoon season of thunderstorms is from March to May.

· The southwest monsoon from June to about the middle of October.

· The post-monsoon or the retreating monsoon period usually starts from the second half of October to November.
