We all know how popular this star has been for his outstanding performances in end number of movies. Sadly, he is no more with us today. 1. Padosan

One of the most phenominal roles played by Mehmood, where he portrayed a typical south Indian classical music teacher. His one sided love chemistry with his student (played by Saira Banu) drived the audience ROFL, isn’t it? Sunil Dutt and Mehmood together fought for beauty and sadly Mehmood loses it as Saira Banu loved Sunil Dutt. Role of Masterji was so well potrayed by Mehmood in fact it was one of the most remarkable performances by Mehmood.

2. Bhoot Bangla

Bhoot Bangla was a comedy-horror film which was Mehmood. Mehmood was also the lead actor in the film along with Tanuja as the lead lady. This movie is said to be a door which paved his entry into Bollywood and also carved a strong position for him.

3. Bombay to Goa

Even today Mehmood’s role as a conductor is remembered by all. Khanna the conductor was one important reason in making the journey from Bombay to Goa really thrilling and engulfing.

4. Love in Tokyo

Mehmood and Shobha Khote’s pair in Love in Tokyo was loved by the auidence. What added to the real success of this movie was the comic timing of the pair. Well the story was a love story which revolved around Asha Parekh and Joy Mukherjee, but the fillers which were brought by Mehmood were totally awesome.

5. Pyaar Kiye Jaa

“Atma” what a Ghosty name isn’t it? Well that was the name of Mehmood Ali in the movie Pyaar Kiye Jaa. This movie has one of the most iconic scenes in Bollywood, where Atma narrates a ghost story to his father (Om Prakash). The scene was absolutely hilarious; no one could have done justice to the role of Atma like Mehmood Ali did.

6. Gumnaam

The movie Gumnaam is remembered for two things, one is the song “Gumnaam hain koi” and the second is Mehmood’s role where he played a south Indian butler. Gumnaam was one of the biggest hits in Mehmood’s career, he was also nominated for the Film fare award for the ‘Best supporting actor’ category. Also remember the super hit song ‘hum kaale hain toh kya hua’ it turned out to be one hit number which is still loved for Mehmood’s unmatched dancing style.

7. Do Phool

Remember the song ‘Muthukudi Kawadi Hada’? Well it was one of the most phenomenal performances by Mehmood. The comedy movie Do Phool was released in the year 1973, it starred Vinod Mehra, Ashok Kumar and Mehmood.
