It does sounds crazy if somebody asks you if a tweet can earn $12 million, but Oprah Winfrey’s tweet was just worth that.
As per the data reported by MarketWatch, the 61 year old TV star got the shares of Weight Watchers up by a whopping 20% after she posted a video about her Weight Watchers journey via Twitter. Soon after she shared the commercial, the shares of the company rocketed. Co-incidentally Oprah owns roughly 6 million shares, or 10 percent of company’s stock.
What did Oprah Winfrey Say?
“I love bread!” Winfrey said in the new commercial. “That’s the genius of this program. I lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day”. Winfrey’s message was posted to her nearly 31 million Twitter followers.
Eat bread. Lose weight. Whaaatttt? #ComeJoinMe https://t.co/jUgpk9ToXY https://t.co/xtnB53EwSf

Soon after the announcement, shares of New York-based Weight Watchers International Inc. rose 21 percent to $13.44 in afternoon trading.
As per the data from S&P Capital IQ, Oprah owns 6.4 million shares, that comes as 10% of the total stock. Oprah’s tweet earned $12.5 million dollars or more than $3 million an hour. Add in her 3.5 million Weight Watchers’ stock option, which she disclosed in October, and Oprah made a whopping $19.2 million Tuesday, or close to $5 million an hour.
Recently, Weight Watchers has also made changes to its plans to better fit in with Winfrey’s message of living a healthy and happier life, and not just focusing on weight loss.
Oprah’s share in Weight Watchers
Winfrey bought 10% stake in Weight Watchers last year and many term this move as something that helped the company revive. Shares moved more than 100% the day of her announcement, making Winfrey $70 million. Shares jumped again at the end of the year when Winfrey tweeted a video of herself talking about why she joined Weight Watchers, writing “let’s do this together.”
Certainly, this is what we call as a million dollar tweet!

I’m the owner of JustCBD label (justcbdstore.com) and I’m presently trying to expand my wholesale side of business. I really hope that anybody at targetdomain is able to provide some guidance . I considered that the most effective way to do this would be to reach out to vape companies and cbd retailers. I was hoping if anybody could suggest a qualified website where I can purchase CBD Shops Business Sales Leads I am already reviewing creativebeartech.com, theeliquidboutique.co.uk and wowitloveithaveit.com. Not sure which one would be the very best selection and would appreciate any support on this. Or would it be easier for me to scrape my own leads? Suggestions?
