- The Pahalgam attack perpetrated by the cross-border terrorists with the due backing of the Pakistani deep state and the establishment was met with a resounding response from the Indian armed forces in the form of Operation Sindoor. The whole nation was boiling with rage when 26 innocent civilian tourists were brutally murdered in cold blood by the terrorists on April 22. It was given that the Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would respond appropriately. India did respond with a midnight strike on nine terrorist hideouts/locations with precision, bravery, and superb execution. Four in Pakistan and five locations in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir were targeted, and a devastating attack was carried out by the armed forces.

- Yes, the Pakistani army was found wanting in not only thwarting the Indian response but also failing to build a by now familiar narrative of not harbouring terrorists but portraying themselves as victims of terrorism. The global community has moved on from the hitherto passable narrative that used to emanate from Pakistan. Unfortunately, what followed the Indian response from the Pakistani elements is the targeting of innocent civilians living along the line of control using incessant shelling, violating the ceasefire agreements, and also raining waves of drones/projectiles on many key military establishments along the border. Little wonder, this decision by the Pakistani army was met by the hitherto unheard-of response by the alert Indian armed forces in kind.

- Remember, Indian authorities took pains to mention right at the beginning that no civilian or military establishments were targeted by us, but were restricted to targeting known terrorists’ hideouts with minimal or no collateral damage. Nonetheless, the Pakistani army failed to heed the Indian narration, resulting in impetuous/illogical/foolhardy attacks. In turn, the Indian response was not only well calibrated, targeted, and perfectly executed but also meant to convey the message loud and clear that things will not be tolerated anymore like earlier times. It is being learnt now that India used Brahmos missiles and other effective ammunition to wreak havoc on the Pakistani air bases, some of them very crucial, and one nearby to the capital, Islamabad.

- The Indian resolve to go right into the heart of the Pakistani Punjab offensively – never occurred before – to wreak hell must have sent a shiver down the Pakistani army establishment. In the interregnum period, the civilian authorities in Pakistan were simply unable to drum up a palpable narration or attract sympathetic hearing from the global community. Incohesive, irrational, implausible, and illogical statements emanating from the political leadership alongside a disinformation campaign, portrayed the Pakistani establishment in an extremely poor and embarrassing manner. India has achieved the objective of altering the narrative on the Pakistani front for good. India has lived up to its expectations of a responsible and trustworthy country.
