  • It is a well-established phenomenon mostly accepted by the majority of humankind that the human mind is no less than oceanic in its vastness and depth not easy to either cipher or comprehends fully. Despite achieving mind-boggling advancements in each veritable field on the back of evolutionary modern technology defining everything in our lives, precisely laying claims to having a substantive understanding of the human mind’s functionality is still elusive. However, what is indisputable is the fact that the human mind can be molded and conquered to a certain extent where it can be subjugated through sheer dint of practice as well as diligence.

  • Of course, this demands the ability to stay focussed, disciplined, committed, determined, self-confident, and to develop an attitude of never giving up despite encountering unprecedented challenges from time to time. There is an acknowledgment of humankind’s ability to master the mind through concerted efforts. And to substantiate the same, it is a proven endeavor that anything practiced over a period becomes a habit that would invariably stand in good stead when challenged by the influencers attempting to break the resolve. Not for nothing, it is vehemently stated with such accepted reverence that the mind over the matter would ultimately guide humans in their stated objectives.
  • Of course, the challenges of the present times owing to the unprecedented devastation wrought by the pandemic-induced occurrences need no further elaboration as the once-in-a-century occurrence has rendered the entire universe impotent and desperately craving for relief. To worsen humankind’s misery, there are multiple challenges confronted in the form of loss of precious lives, livelihood, and compounded by the uncertainty of future severely crippling the faculties. Apart from the physical duress experienced by the infected lot, the vagaries of coping with the unadulterated infringement of our well-being in terms of mental scarring have had a palpable debilitating effect on the psyche.

  • It is easier said than done to embrace positive thinking when so many near and dear ones depart after undergoing tremendous pains gasping for mere oxygen which we all take for granted. The agony of not according a decent send-off one last time also plays heavily on the mental faculties. The sheer volume of melancholy surrounding our existence is aptly defined by anticipating unpleasant occurrences rendering us complete mental wrecks. How to get over this extremely vicious labyrinthine existence to stay afloat shielded from pessimism calls for honest introspection. Since times immemorial, human resilience has successfully prevailed over unadulterated challenges facing us. There is no reason why we cannot prevail again.
  • We all are captains of our souls and masters of our minds provided we do not let persistent negativity seep into our system wittingly or unwittingly. Finding ways to disallow pessimism is kept at bay takes some real efforts but it is worth a try. Anything that ensures the mind stays tranquil vis-à-vis music, exercise, reading, writing, watching, chores, playing, observing, helping, chatting, conversing, debating, and indulging in activities would go a long way in making our stay senile. Nothing is achieved by giving up rather there is a worthwhile expectation if one stays single-mindedly focussed on being positive amid challenging circumstances to emerge unscathed. Give it an honest try! Trust me, you will emerge smiling.
