- The recently concluded 50-over cricket World Cup in India saw how skillful, masterful, and menacing Bumrah can be in the usual pace bowler’s nightmarish experience of playing in flat pitches. The ongoing five-match Test series between India and England once again reaffirmed how Bumrah simply takes out pitch conditions from the equation by producing an artful display of swing and seam movement. The way he bamboozled the English batsmen in the second Test at Vizag is simply astonishing and worthy of praise. Cleaning up established batsmen of pedigree calls for some serious skills and Bumrah is blessed with the same in abundance. No wonder Bumrah’s consistent performances have led him to be crowned No. 1 in Test ranking, deservedly.
