  • The Bharatiya Janata Party and the National Democratic Alliance would have us believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the favorite to return for the successive third-time post-Lok Sabha polls. The party is gung-ho about the prospects of NDA returning to power with handsome results in the ensuing parliamentary elections scheduled for April/May 2024. The reason for this upbeat disposition stems from undertaking the overall developmental agenda having borne concrete results courtesy of visible action on the ground. The feel-good factor generated by the Union Government’s slew of infrastructural developments in the last few years is showing results much to the appreciation of the common citizens. The railways, roads, bridges, communication, defence, space, IT, and other crucial sectors have seen tremendous growth indeed. No questions asked.

  • The concerted efforts of various union ministries led by the PM have provided an illuminating insight into how the country has achieved tremendous progress in the last ten years of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Most importantly, the way the pandemic-induced economic meltdown and the geostrategic challenges encountered courtesy of conflicts handled by the Union Government mirrors the efficacy of the administration in adroitly navigating through choppy waters. Except for concerns remaining in the yet-to-take-off domestic consumption, the Indian economy is on the right track as can be seen in the consistent GDP growth witnessed so far. This augurs well for the nation. No wonder, the BJP is upbeat.
  • Knowing fully well that the model code of conduct will be in force in the next few weeks, the PM is on an announcement spree with big ticket push for several infrastructural schemes in the anvil. Not only that, inaugurating some of the most wonderful infrastructure projects over the last few months has seen an uptick as well. Of course, nothing gets bigger than the consecration ceremony of the long-awaited Lord Ram in Ayodhya catapulting the imagination of the millions of devotees blissfully soaking in the religious defense vigor fervor. No wonder, the BJP will leave no stone unturned in claiming the credit for fulfilling its manifesto promise of nullifying Article 370 and the closure of the disputed Lord Ram temple construction. Expect these issues to be milked to the last drop.

  • In terms of popularity, acceptability, traction, and intent to deliver the goods, there is no other political leader in the country who can even come remotely close to Modi. Modi has assiduously positioned himself as an indefatigable leader by highlighting his preference for four segments of society namely youth, women, farmers, and Dalits. The four who matter the most in the socio-economic scenario. Of late, he has also started using the word guarantee often. His clarion calls that Modi’s guarantee begins where others end has struck a chord with the discerning people thereby increasing his aura manifold. Going by the look of things, Modi is all set to return with renewed vigour and strength backed by impressive numbers to boot in the parliamentary polls.
