As the year 2016 begun; some young Indians gave a huge reason for our country to feel proud. Forty five Indians and Indian-origin youngsters have successfully made it to the annual list of ‘Forbes Achievers Under 30’. As Forbes mentioned, these youngsters are “changing the rules of the game or creating entirely new playbooks” in varied fields such as consumer technology, education, media, manufacturing and industry, law and policy, social entrepreneurs, science and art and science.
Forbes said,
“In the past, youth was a handicap to professional success. Getting older meant more resources, more knowledge, more money. No more. Those who grew up in the tech age have way bigger ambitions – perfectly suited to the dynamic, entrepreneurial and impatient digital world they grew up in. If you want to change the world, being under 30 is now an advantage,”
Who all have made to the list of Forbes Achievers under 30 of the year 2015?
Forbes recently announced annual list of 30 young men and women across the globe who have made remarkable contribution in various fields. This list of Forbes achievers under 30 consists of young people who are changing the world and are brightest stars, creative leaders and even entrepreneurs. These 30 young men and women were shortlisted from the 600 young achievers under the age 30.
Out of these 600, forty five were the Indian and Indian-origin young guys and gals belonging to different fields. Amongst the toppers is the Oyo Rooms’ founder and CEO, 22 year old Ritesh Agarwal. Forbes has termed Agarwal’s OYO Rooms as the Airbnb of India. While honoring Ritesh in the list of Forbes Achievers under 30, Forbes mentioned,
“In a country that lacks a steady supply of budget hotel chains, Oyo has developed a network of 2,200 small hotels in 100 cities across India,”
Apart from Ritesh, some of the remarkable young Indians who made it to the list of Forbes achievers under 30 are;
1) Gagan Biyani (Age 28) and Neeraj Berry: Co-founders of Sprig, a mobile app that lets one find and order healthy meals and have them delivered quickly.
2) Karishma Shah (Age 25): The youngest hire at Alphabet’s Google X so-called moonshot factory.
3) Lily Singh (Age 27): Canadian writer-comedian and “part of a new generation of stars that has used YouTube to gain a following”.
4) Nila Das (Age 27): Vice-president at Citigroup and a mortgage bond trader
5) Divya Nettimi (Age 29): Investment analyst at Viking Global Investors, who co-managed Harvard Business School’s Alpha Fund while getting her MBA
6) Vikas Patel (Age 29): Senior analyst at hedge fund Millennium Management
7) Neel Rai (Age 29): Investment analyst at Caxton Associates where he is part of a three-person team managing $600 million portfolio at pioneering macro hedge fund.
8) Vishal Lugani (Age 26): Senior associate at Greycroft Partners
9) Amit Mukherjee (Age 27): Senior associate at New Enterprise Associates
10) Nisha Chittal (Age 27): Manager of social media and community at MSNBC
11) Ashish Patel (Age 29): Senior vice president of Social Media at NowThis Media
12) Sampriti Bhattacharyya (Age 28): MIT grad student who has developed underwater drones that are capable of autonomously communicating and working together to scan the ocean to look for lost planes, or measure oil spills or radiation under the sea.
13) Saagar Govil (Age 29): CEO of Cemtrex which produces environmental products and electronics solutions.
14) Anoop Jain (Age 28): Founding Director of Sanitation and Health Rights in India, which builds toilets, collects human waste and uses methane coming off that excrement to create clean water.
15) Ashish Kumbhat (Age 26): A monetary policy expert in the Federal Reserve Board
16) Dipayan Ghosh (Age 27): Privacy and public policy advisor at Facebook
17) Anisha Singh (Age 28): Former lead of the international policy division of United Sikhs, where she founded national anti-bullying campaign and won a historic case against US Army requiring religious accommodation on behalf of a 19-year-old Sikh who’d been rejected from ROTC programs.
18) Sanjam Garg (Age 29): Assistant professor at University of California Berkeley
These Indians and Indian-origin youngsters have certainly made the country proud. They have also given a lot of encouragement to the young Indians who look forward to make success their best friend while making an attempt to change the world.
