Ram Dev, The Yoga Guru, better known as Baba Ramdev is known for his contributions in politics, yoga, agriculture and Ayurveda. He has got immense popularity because of his contribution in Yoga and has literally created a bench mark in Yoga. He also sells medicines and groceries through Patanjali Group of Institutions.
But, he is also known to circle around controversies and recently he attracted a new controversy and came into the spotlight in Indian media, when he claimed that he was not given a Nobel Prize because of his physical complexion.
He had held a Yoga camp at Morhabadi ground and it was the last day of the five-day camp. Taking a dig at recent outcry of writers returning awards, Baba Ramdev was commenting about awards which were being either turned down or returned in the name of Intolerance in the country. He said that many undeserving and non-competent candinates are getting awards and politics is being played in the name of award return, he also said that the country’s image is being destroyed on International platform while comparing his contributions in the field of Yoga.
He later added that he should have been given a Nobel Prize because of his contributions in Yoga but he wasn’t as because he is black.
Sanjay Seth who is a member of Patanjali Yoga Peeth explained that it was during the usual interactions with general public during the exercise session that Ramdev had commented about the award return politics. Coincidentally chief minister Ragubhar Das was also seen in the camp. Ramdev, later in the afternoon, left for Delhi.
Now that’s some expectation Ramdev Baba, but why not, everybody has freedom to express 🙂
