  • Operation Sindoor has achieved more than just a military success in inflicting palpable losses to the Pakistani terror factories, its military establishment, and most importantly, the complacent generals who were in a bubble of comforts must be feeling shattered with the Indian armed forces’ superiority. Targeting hideouts/locations deep inside Pakistani territory, nearer to army headquarters, must have shaken the confidence of the army generals to no end. That swarm of drones and missiles from across the border was successfully thwarted by the highly effective and combative Air Defence systems. The whole world witnessed how the Indian armed forces went about the task with such professionalism, finesse, and precise execution. Very proud!

  • The message was loud and clear. India will not tolerate any misadventures without inflicting serious damage to the enemy elements, as was laid bare by deep insertions successfully perpetrated by our state-of-the-art technology-driven guided missiles, drones, and combat-ready forces was evident. Little wonder, the Pakistani establishment rushed to one and sundry, as well as the Indian DGMO, requesting a ceasefire. Indian side accepting the proposal indicates maturity and not caving into pressure exerted from outside forces, as is being guesstimated/assessed by people from all hues to not let go of the advantage enjoyed by India. Even the presser carried out by the senior military officers showcased our maturity and steely resolve. What a presser it was!

  • This policy of careful assessment, deliberate action, and measured statements befits India’s global stature. Pakistan lives off borrowings and must delude itself to keep up morale. As to the question, did Operation Sindoor achieve its objectives? The answer is a resounding yes. Recall what India said after the 25-minute operation last Wednesday. It was a measured and non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible strike to dismantle terror infrastructure. War wasn’t a goal. Yet another way to assess outcomes is to tot up losses. Some Indian lives were sadly lost in Pakistani shelling, but overall, India suffered almost no damage. Our air defences worked well. Craters in Pakistani air bases, including Nur Khan, not far from Pakistan’s nuclear command centre prove this beyond doubt.

  • It’s natural to feel a bit disappointed that India agreed to halt operations when it had the upper hand, but consider that every conflict distracts from the primary goal of the nation-building. It’s a wise decision to disengage. Unlike failed Pakistan, we have far bigger stakes in our future. Further, Pakistan will have to weigh the costs of its proxy war carefully going forward. India has made it clear that every terrorist act hereon will be regarded as an act of war. That doesn’t mean we’ll launch a military operation every time, but we reserve the right to do so whenever we choose to. Every military operation is an opportunity to assess strengths and weaknesses, and India will do so now. The idea that Op Sindoor was halted before achieving its objectives must be banished. Instead, attention must shift to catching the perpetrators of Pahalgam. We are a strong country!
