With unveiling of the XUV Aero Concept, Mahindra & Mahindra rocked the second day of the 2016 Auto Expo in style. This car has been designed completely in-house at the Mahindra & Mahindra’s design studio in Kandivali, Mumbai. This new car looks quite aggressive when it comes to design. It has a slopping roofline, large bumpers, horizontally placed tail-lamps, several creases and prominent character lines on sides. All these together add to the really dynamic design.
Know Mahindra’s All New Concept XUV Aero
1. In-House Design
The XUV Aero has been designed fully in-house at Mahindra in-house design studio. A 45-year old Ramkripa Ananthan along with 45-strong member team together designed this sleek and strong car. This car is 4600mm long, 1680mm height and 1890mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2700mm.
2. Inspired
XUV Aero is inspired, and is an automotive manifestation of the cheetah like the XUV 500. This car is a coupe-crossover which gets a sleek shape along with a muscular and sporty look. It is also inspired from the Rolls Royce, as it gets two doors on the left hand side and a single inlet for the driver on the right.
3. Draws cues from XUV500 SUV
The all new Mahindra XUV Aero draws some design cues from the Mahindra XUV500 SUV. It can be seen in the headlamps, sculpted lines and the hood.
4. New features
The Aero concept, features hood vents, new LED DRLs, large alloy rims and a sportier body kit for a low stance.
5. Communication and connectivity
The XUV Aero concept also offers the latest communication and connectivity features. It comes equipped with a high-resolution touchscreen to control the infotainment system settings and an embedded telecommunication module. It also gets multi-zone climate control and on-board vehicle system functions.
6. Powered by mHawk
Aero is powered with a 2.2-litre mHawk based engine, which can handle upto 210PS and 470Nm of torque. Mahindra claims that this car will be able to hit the ton in just six seconds. The mHawk engine has an advanced combustion system with low pressure EGR adaptability, this improves NVH and gives better fuel efficiency.
7. Multiple driving modes
The XUV Aero has four driving modes, like Sport, Race, Street and offroad.
8. 265/40 section tyres
In order to make most of all of that powerful engine on the road efficiently, this car also has 265/40 section tyres which can wrap a gorgeous set of 20-inch wheels.
9. Mahindra’s Most Expensive Vehicle
All New Concept XUV Aero is by far Mahindra’s most expressive vehicle.
At the Auto Expo 2016, Mahindra also showcased other products like the e20 sport, recently launched KUV100 and SsangYong Tivoli. They also launched their commercial vehicle range Jeeto. Popular actor Ajay Devgn will be the brand ambassador of its all new range of trucks BLAZO according to the announcements made.
Mahindra also announced that they will be soon starting mass production of this vehicle, depending upon the market response.
