Working Women Contribute More Than Men in Running Homes

• There is a long-standing established norm governing the society that has demarcated role-plays essayed by men and women to run the house. • What earlier used to be the sole fiefdom of men gradually allowed space for women too as more and more economic platforms emerged paving way for equal level playing fields for both gender. • Such a situation was most visible during the lockdown period where working women were literally pulled in different directions attending to household chores, cranky children locked inside the house, demanding husbands and of course, professionals working from home commitments too. Scores of women would have surely bemoaned the successive lockdowns that literally split them apart. Add to the mix absence of house helps as well, the misery of any working women would have compounded many folds.

• This being the scenario, let us all be more accommodative and contribute healthily, if not equally, while the womenfolk goes about running the show – both professional and domestic.
