So, Valentine Day is tomorrow and it’s definitely not good news for single men. Valentine Day falls on February 14 and celebrated all over the world. You love it or hate it but the day hits your calendar every year. For few it’s just a normal day and for many a reason to celebrate their love. The day is remembered as a death of St. Bishop Valentine who was a Christian saint. The festival is presumed as a secular temporal taste but many says it do have a religious significance as well.

Emperor Claudius II did not wanted any Roman soldiers to get married. The emperor believed that soldier’s family will distract them. But Bishop Valentine went against this and started with the secret weddings. Valentine was jailed for this act.

 

Valentine's Day 22. Valentine skull in Rome
You can find the skull of St. Valentine as a display in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, Rome. The bits and pieces of St. Valentine body is scattered everywhere around the world. The other pieces are on a display in France, England, Ireland, Scotland and Czech Republic.

 

 

Valentine's Day 33. A Record-Breaking Kissing Event
Mexico City has set a new record of around 40,000 people kissing on the Valentine Day. The record was verified as the world’s large group kiss by Guinness World Record. This event took place in the city centre of Zocalo. The previous kissing record was set in 2007.

 

 

Valentine Day4. 1 billion cards are exchanged
Every year around 1 billion Valentine Day cards are exchanged in US. After Christmas, that’s the largest card exchanging of the year. Also on this day, over 40 million roses are given each year.

Saudi Arabia officials have put strict ban on Valentine Day. Selling all kind of Valentine Day products like roses and cards are banned in advance. On this day, Women and Men sit separately in restaurants and public places.
