- At the best of times, the Indian political scenario resembles a chaotic conglomeration of diverse leaders with different ideologies but broadly based on the typical labyrinthine caste equations. Based on these peculiarities of our political narrative, several regional parties alongside national parties have established their credentials with dedicated vote banks to boot. Of course, our political parties and leaders have formed a time-tested modus operandi to not only assiduously cultivate the vote banks but also look out for more opportunities to further strengthen their hold by extending the olive branches. No wonder, inducements, incentives, promises, assurances, reassurances, and promises rule every political manifesto during the election times.

- Since the democratic form of governance also entails any number of political parties to take birth, leaders representing several castes forming outfits are dime a dozen. - What is the most common factor in the unfolding events is the desperate measures being adopted by the political parties to stay relevant not only in the eyes of the general public but also impress upon the other parties aiming for attention. Did someone mention that there are no permanent foes or friends in the political scheme of things? Indeed, it is. What matters is to see the greener pasture on the other side of the aisle and move on to ensure the relevancy factor doesn’t stay affected or kept in abeyance too long. In doing so, the stated objectives and long-held ideologies get compromised and are conveniently forgotten. Yes, several such instances have dotted the Indian political landscape having witnessed the unlikeliest of opponents joining hands.

- Make no mistake, the ideologies representing the communal and secular have been done to death but continue to stay right at the top of the political narrative in India. Simply because, the two main national parties viz., the BJP and Congress are identified as communal and secular by their ideologies. It’s another matter altogether that both the parties are known to adopt soft approaches toeing the communal and secular ideologies themselves if it benefits them to score brownie points among the electorate. Parochial considerations always rule the roost since no political parties are known to leave any stone unturned in consolidating their respective vote banks cultivated over the years. Don’t expect any changes in the narrative.
