- By now, the Indian citizens must be quite familiar with the way the Bharatiya Janata Party proceeds ahead with the relentless election machinery not taking the foot off the pedal despite challenges along the way. The formidable force of the saffron brigade’s electoral machinery with innovative strategies defines how the challenges are countered. It’s fascinating to observe how the BJP’s leadership accords importance to every election irrespective of the impact. So much so that, the BJP has not only revolutionized the way modern-day elections are fought utilizing the force of the digital world but also successfully staying tuned to the requirements of the grassroots-level commoners. It’s amazing to note how efficiently BJP’s electoral machinery functions at top gear.

- We are aware of how last year’s Parliamentary elections did not favour the BJP when the final number of seats won was less than the expectations. Recollect how the entire campaign was premised on BJP crossing 400 seats on their own. Eventually, the BJP could not obtain the majority of its own but the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crossed the mark quite comfortably. Most surprisingly, the Grand Old Party proved its worth by scoring double the seats from its previous tally. Political pundits opined that the GOP has crossed the corner and would provide competent opposition to the BJP in the coming years. The INDI alliance appeared on track to stymie the BJP despite the internal fissures making its presence felt often.

- While the nation was glued to the ensuing elections in the crucial states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, the opposition ranks were gung-ho about their chances. Unfortunately for the opposition parties, what transpired during the state assembly elections was completely contrary to their expectations. Madhya Pradesh was retained by the BJP. Rajasthan was won by the BJP. Chhattisgarh too went to the saffron brigade. In between, the elections to Haryana and Maharashtra also threw surprises. The Congress was confident of wresting Haryana from the BJP and all the exit polls suggested the same. Come the counting day, the BJP stunned the Grand Old Party by retaining the state in a remarkable turnaround.

- Of course, the icing on the cake must be the way Maharashtra polls were won by the Mahayuti led by the BJP completely routing the Maha Vikas Aghadi of the opposition by some distance. Due credit should accrue to the master strategist Amit Shah whose deep insight and unambiguous understanding of the undercurrents always play a big role in BJP’s electoral successes. What to say about the Delhi success when the incumbent AAP was overwhelmingly defeated by the BJP returning to power after 27 years? While these successes will keep the BJP’s electoral machinery highly motivated and battle-ready for future endeavours, the INDI alliance is on the brink of collapse with diverse party leaders pulling in different directions. Advantage BJP, indeed.
