India is a land of different cultures, religions, flora, fauna and other such things that are beyond the scope of human understanding. There is no shortage of mysterious places that exist in India. There are many of you who believe in the existence of the paranormal activities.
In case if you don’t, then here are the 10 places in India that make you believe as these places work against the conventional laws of science and nature.
1. Kuldhara, Rajasthan– A village which is just 18 kms from Jaisalmer was once a hometown of more than 1,500 Paliwal Brahmins. People used to live here from more than five centuries. Suddenly one day the entire population run away leaving behind the village. Still there is no clue what happened that led villagers to take such a step. No even that they left it with a curse that say no one can ever settle on this ground in future. Today, nothing is there in the village expect a fewbroken down buildings.
2. Kodinhi, Kerala– Kodinhi is a small village in Kerala where there are more than 200 pairs of twins and two sets of triplets. It is very strange to know this fact about such a place and because of this, Kodinhi is also known as ‘Village of Twins’. Even though if a lady from this village is married outside, she still gives birth to twins. Some doctors believe that the water in the village is the primary reason behind it.
3. Kongka La Pass, Ladakh– Kongka La Pass is a disputed area that lies near the border of India and China at a height of 16,970 feet. Here people believe that the area is very common in case if you are looking for UFO sightings to sightings of strange humanoids.
4. Roopkund, Uttarakhand– At the height of 16,500 feet there is a glacier lake called Roopkund. The strange thing related to this lake is that whenever the ice melts, hundreds of human skeletons are found floating. There is no clue from where these bones came from. The result of forensics and radiocarbon tests shows that the bones are around 1,200 years old, but what so many people were doing in such a place where survival is so hard is still need to be disclosed. Though local story is there to explain this mystery, but still the fact is unknown.
5. Jatinga, Assam– Jatinga, a small village in Assam, is famous for some strange phenomenon activity that happens every year. Here hundreds of migratory birds commit mass suicide and that too every year at the same place.Both local people and ornithologists have their explanation to explain this strange activity, but it is still not clear why these birds fly at night and this happens at the same place every year.
6. Shettihalli, Karnataka-There is a Rosary Church that was built by French missionaries in the 1860’s. Indian Government has built the Gorur Dam thatfloods the Hemavathi Reservoir.Every year, the church submerges during the monsoonsand again reappears, when the water level goes down.The strange thing here is that, even today, Rosary Church is as beautiful as it was in the past. People in this area have given the new name to the church as ‘The Drowning Church’.
7. Vittala Temple Complex, Hampi, Karnataka-Vittala Temple is situated in Hampi Karnataka. The strange fact associated with this temple is that, there are 56 musical pillarsthat produce musical sounds when tapped gently. During the rule of the British in India, people tried to find out what is there inside the pillars, but at the end, they didn’t find anything. It is like a mystery for everyone to know the logic behind the musical sounds.
8. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan-Bhangarh Fort was once a center of activities. In fact, it was so beautiful that Jaipur, the pink city of India was modelled after its design. But now Bhangarh Fort is counted amongst the most haunted place in India. Even the Archaeological Survey of India put a notice board near the fort to avoid tourist entry between sunset and sunrise. People have different stories related to Bhangarh Fort, but the truth is still unknown.
9. Lonar Crater Lake, Maharashtra– It will be very strange for you to know that this lake is both saline and alkaline in nature. It is a saline soda lake located at Lonar in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, India and was created by a meteor impact. It is the largest and only hyper velocity impact crater in basaltic rock found on the earth. There is no one who actually knows the source of spring that feed this lake. Not only this much, the unique chemical composition of its water supports several microorganisms that are rarely found elsewhere on the earth.
10. Gyanganj, Himalayas– It is believed by many that there is a city of immortal beings somewhere in the Himalayas. It has been known by several names like Gyanganj, Shambala, Siddhashram or Shangri-La. It is said about this city that it lies totally in some other dimension and even hides it from sight and modern mapping technologies. The exact location of this place is still unknown.
The mystery related to these places still remains unsolved. We can just wait and watch if science theories can find some valid reason behind this.
