We Indians still do not believe in living alone, for us mostly the idea of a home is with the family. Living independently offers a great deal of freedom, this means you can act the way you want and choose the way you want to live. It’s your house, so you can get up the whenever you want to, eat whatever you like, no need to share anything with anyone; and the most important you don’t need to keep the TV volume down, even after 10pm.

 

 

 

3. No time restriction

Sometimes staying with family can create a jail-type scenario, this is because there are time restrictions. But when you stay alone, you can come and go any time you want to. No one is waiting to yell at you.

 

 

 

4. Free entry for friends

You don’t need to take permission or inform anyone about inviting your friends home. Your friends are free to drop by literally any time you want. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the middle of the night or at the crack of dawn. They can walk in any time and stay with you as long as they want. When you stay with your family, mostly mom’s keep on pressurizing to do the required cleaning continuously. In fact, she will be standing on your head and make sure you do it. Many parents do not support their kids to keep pets at home, this is mostly because they are concerned with hygiene issues. So when you live alone, you can fulfil your long lasting dream. No one can now kill your dreams with any lame excuses, like allergies or poop. Get whatever you want now, be it lizard, rats, puppy, birds or an alligator.

 

 

8. Put all crazy décor and furniture

Many people love to put posters on the walls of their rooms, but sadly their parents do not allow. Now you can get all the crazy posters you always wanted. Self-paint your walls with crazy paintings. But a XXXL bean bag and strew it around in the living room. It’s your own house, so decorate it the way you wish to.

 

9. Feel true silence

Staying with a family involves a great challenge with respect to experiencing true silence. This is because you will hear some or the other sound from some place in the house, be it mom’s tea party, kids yelling in the house or dad’s office meetings at home. But when you stay independent, you can be pretty sure about experiencing pin drop silence. You can choose when you want silence and when you don’t, as it’s just you all alone.

 

 

10. Freedom to stay up late nights

We all like reading at night, watching movies or playing games, but sadly we are never allowed. Our parents in all ways try to keep us as disciplined as possible. It’s a nightmare to get caught by mom in the middle of the night. But now forget about that happening, when you stay alone, you have your own rules. You can stay up till the sunrise if you want. 11. Become more responsible

When in the family, we do not become 100% responsible as we are dependent on our family. But when you stay alone, you learn to take your own decisions. Many of us start shopping for household stuffs, pay bills on time, clean and many such activities. We perform them all independently. You start doing things that you would have probably never done in life.

 

12. Learn new skills

There are many chores like cooking, washing clothes and cleaning the toilet, these are household chores that many of us never do when we stay with our family. But when we start living independently, we start handling all these by ourselves. We learn these skills quickly and even become experts in handling them efficiently.

 

 

Living independently can be fun, but there might be lonely times too. We all miss our homes and family. But cheer up, you have friends to give you company. It’s a good idea to at least once experience how being alone feels as it’s better to actually be alone than just wish for it.
