Jet Airways is all set to become India’s first airline to launch WiFi internet service onboard in its flights. The company confirmed that it will soon be offering in flight wireless streaming of movies, music, interactive games, and children’s programs. These services will be provided directly onto flyers’ Wi-Fi enabled personal devices, like tablets, smartphones and laptops on the Jet Airways flights.

WiFI streaming service is set to launch soon in phases by the 2nd quarter of this year.
2. Collaboration with Global Eagle Entertainment Inc.
This new system has been developed in collaboration with the Global Eagle Entertainment Inc. They specialize in technology, media content and connectivity solutions to the travel industry.
3. Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft
This service will be introduced on the Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft in the Jet Airways fleet. It will be launched in 2nd quarter of 2016.
4. Wide range of services for flyers
Post this service is fully rolled out, the flyers will be able to enjoy many services to make their travel even more worth. Services will include access to a high quality library of audio/video content, interactive games, a state-of-the-art 3D flight tracker, and destination information.
5. Future Plans
Jet airways further plans to upgrade this service from a streaming service to a full-fledged broadband satellite connectivity in the future. This plan is subject to regulatory approvals. This upgrade will allow the guests to enjoy services like, internet surfing, social media, e-mail, connecting flight information, IM, real time travel services and destination deals.
6. Second Indian carrier to offer in-flight entertainment streaming
After Vistara, Jet Airways becomes India’s second Indian carrier to offer in-flight entertainment streaming service. Presently, Vistara offers its this service to its business class passengers. They have customized tablets which have pre-loaded entertainment content.
