- One must admire the way the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election machinery functions irrespective of the level of polls underway in the country. No election is considered less important by the BJP as right from the panchayat to municipal to corporation to state assembly to by-polls to the Parliamentary elections, the emphasis and intensity to win is never diluted. One must admit the seriousness with which the BJP’s top leadership is also invested in the overall process right from the choosing of the candidate to canvassing to electioneering to propagating various socio-welfare schemes down to the last man standing. In contemporary electoral history/practices, no other party can lay claim to being anywhere nearer to the BJP’s election machinery. Kudos to them!

- Did someone mention the BJP’s top leadership functions 24/7 when it comes to Indian politics? You bet. Top leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and master strategists like Amit Shah must be hard-pressed to discharge their pressure-filled responsibilities of running the Union Government. How they manage to spare time in organizational matters despite this defies logic. Mind you, both leaders are invariably involved in every major decision emanating from the saffron brigade. It’s no secret that the BJP’s Parliamentary Board wields enormous authority while deciding matters of the organization. Yes, the recent electoral success achieved in three Hindi heartland states led to increased interest to see who will be bestowed with the top mantle.
- People closely following the political fortunes would have noticed none of the three states viz. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh had projected a CM candidate during the electioneering. All three states went to polls by highlighting the dynamic leadership of PM Modi and his unparalleled charisma, heft, traction, acceptance, as well as popularity among the masses. Make no mistake, PM Modi is the top mascot of the BJP whose presence during the electioneering succeeds in swaying voters to choose the party. It was evident that the BJP was planning to overlook the old warhorses like Shivraj Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, and Raman Singh by infusing new blood to run the state government. There was no doubt about it whatsoever.

- People and political commentators might think that the chosen leaders like Vishnu Deo Sai in Chhattisgarh, Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh, and Bhajan Lal Sharma in Rajasthan are surprises. Trust me, the BJP’s top decision-making body would have brainstormed before arriving at these choices keeping in mind the unavoidable caste conundrums. Make no mistake, no political party in the country can forego the option of upholding social engineering which largely plays on caste equations. Considering these aspects and also keeping in mind the ensuing Parliamentary election next year, the BJP has taken well-thought-out steps in choosing the new CMs which should go unchallenged by the established leaders. These measures are simply praiseworthy.
