  • The global community and the leadership alike led by the United States of America and the United Nations are still making every effort to rein in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accede to a ceasefire from its ongoing conflict against Hamas/Palestine. Yes, it will be over a year since the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Hamas against Israeli citizens last year leading to an escalation in the region. Expectedly, the Israeli leadership carried out counterattacks against the Hamas resulting in widespread casualties of innocent lives and properties. The Collateral damage of any war is always scores of unsuspecting human lives literally at the mercy of a few hungry leaders hell-bent on inflicting the maximum possible debilitating effects on innocent people.

  • Yes, the apprehension expressed by the global leadership on the countervailing fallout of the conflict has only helped in dividing the for and against votaries of war. It is mentioned in detail how the Israeli PM is battling to survive domestic challenges including the corruption charges levelled. The hostages continue to remain with Hamas despite attempts at securing their release proving inadequate. The peace overtures amid escalating attacks and counterattacks have only further exacerbated the already dicey situation in the region. The families from both sides are undergoing unmitigated challenges with no signs of hope for an amicable peace settlement visible on the horizon sooner. Where does this situation eventually lead to?
  • To compound the already troubled region, a new war front has recently opened with the Israeli defence forces neutralizing the Iran-backed Hezbollah leadership in Lebanon. The stealth, precision, and amazing technological prowess exhibited by the famed Israeli intelligence and defence operatives were on display resulting in the assassination of Hezbollah leadership has only left the Iranian leadership itching to retaliate. Indeed, the Iranian retaliation against Israel was on expected lines resulting in the loss of a few soldiers and properties despite Tel Aviv largely succeeding in neutralizing the collateral. The moot point to ponder over here is how and where the dangerously emerging situation in West Asia would culminate.

  • Notably, the USA is in the midst of an acrimonious Presidential campaign with both the Republican and Democratic candidates hell-bent on throttling each other through some of the most insidious and unbelievably vituperative rhetoric campaigns witnessed in recent times. Meanwhile, Netanyahu has made it abundantly clear that he is not going to stop till the perpetrators are eliminated. The new war front between Israel and Iran could lead to an unwanted third-world war-like situation engulfing the entire universe in no time. Every concerned global leader must make every effort to comprehend the futility of waging a war and force the warring factions to call for a ceasefire before things spiral out of control in no time. A sense of urgency is the need of the hour.
