  • Those who are hooked onto television soaps and serials since long would vouch how much they missed out on their daily quota of energizers. Especially housewives and elderly ladies are the most vociferous followers who would not let go any opportunity to miss their favourite shows. I can personally vouch there are many ladies who would not mind or bother missing out on social gatherings / occasions but are not prepared to lose out on shows come what may.
  • Likewise, thousands of diehard fans are out there who would be pining for cinema halls to commence screening movies as well for they too are yearning for some fresh mode of entertainment after all these days. Let me tell you from personal experience, OTT streaming platforms and other medium of online entertainment modes can never ever replace the fun element derived out by watching it on big silver screens. Conventional theatre screenings are still preferred by a distance and patronised by thousands for sure.

  • Old reruns of iconic serials have run its course and clamouring for new content is on the rise leading the authorities to signal intent to allow commencement of shooting with different sets of protocols keeping in line with the necessities of maintaining social distancing norms, hygiene and sanitisation standards as well as frequent temperature checks. • By nature, soaps and serials or for that matter cinema as a medium demands closer proximity of characters performing / enacting sequences as per the script. It could be sequences involving small to large crowds vis-à-vis marriage, fights, dance, markets or for that matter intimate moments between the characters as well. Unlike our western counterparts where private moments are quite commonly portrayed on screen, our screen may revert to showing two flowers mollycoddling as it used to be earlier.
  • Of course, ostentatious and elaborate permissions for shooting may not be forthcoming but reducing on the crew numbers to permissible limits say 33% or bare minimum numbers would be probably allowed. We are known to be indigenous in inventing sustainable / thriving methods amidst challenging situations and hence am sure something worthwhile or interesting will emerge from the stable of entertainment industry too.
