Dishearteningly, It’s Hard to Understand What the Congress’s Scion Wants!

  • The Indian political churnings are unique and cannot be easily comprehendible in stating the obvious. People closely following the fortunes of the political happenings in India would be left exasperated by the sheer predictability and the seemingly mundane narrative accompanying the discourse. The communal versus secular narrative has completely submerged the saner voice of reasoning in the increasing din. Mind you, where it was expected from the country’s leaders to join hands to push for the common cause of the nation’s growth prospects, the disturbing trend of pulling in different directions must be greatly worrying. The 18th Lok Sabha has been formed and unfortunately, has started on a note of bickering right from the word go.

18th Lok Sabha

PC: The Economic Times

  • Even though the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance assumed the levers of power for the third successive term at the Center, the Congress and the INDI alliance have gone about projecting as if they have won the election with an absolute majority. The way Congress has shown its aggressive intent defies logic as to who is conferred with the honor of governing the country. The Scion of the Congress continues to be in election mode berating the treasury benches for no rhyme or reason. The narration being bandied about appears to have become stale with nothing novel coming out from the newly minted Leader of the Opposition. Of course, other INDI alliance leaders are rallying around him enjoying the limelight.
  • Undoubtedly, there are burning issues like NEET and NAT fiasco, raising inflationary trends, lack of job opportunities, growing disenchantment among citizens seeking relief from high prices of commodities, calls for quotas and reservations, and most importantly, providing commensurate avenues for every stratum seeking to be a part of the aspirational society. The Parliamentary proceedings after the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha have been anything but cordial. The hate, antagonism, and blatant dislike between the treasury and opposition benches leaves nobody in doubt as to what is expected in the ensuing sessions. It’s quite evident that the Congress scion has been no less acerbic in targeting the ruling dispensation right from the word go.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

PC: Firstpost

  • To its credit, the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gone about administering the government with renewed vigor and unchanged demeanor even though the party has failed to cross the majority mark on its own. Apart from mostly retaining the senior cabinet ministers with familiar portfolios, the Union Budget presented recently has continued with the PM’s stated objectives. Yes, the coalition compulsions meant the states of Andhra Pradesh and Bihar have garnered more central fund allocation immediately drawing the ire of the opposition. As if on cue, the Congress scion has renewed the attack on the PM-led Union Government with more vigor. The country deserves more cohesion to grow rather than triviality pulling in different directions.
