  • It is unambiguously embedded in the charters governing the Indian Armed Forces to not only remain apolitical at all times but also accept civilian supremacy as enshrined in our Constitution in letter and in spirit. In line with this clearly demarcated role definition, the Armed Forces diligently continue to remain neutral without ever crossing the sacrosanct line. Unlike other countries which has witnessed many a Military coups – including our troublesome neighbor – we, as a nation can proudly proclaim that the Armed Forces have never attempted breaching the sanctity as enunciated in the Constitution. True guardians, nothing less!

  • Our Armed Forces has thwarted numerous attempts at destabilizing the sovereignty of the country by not allowing the enemy even a semblance of upper hand after all these years. Aptly mirrors exemplary commitment to the cause that has claimed innumerable sacrifices along the way. Scores of tales enumerating praiseworthy gallantry, awe-inspiring valor and emulation-worthy martyrdom indeed are scripted in golden letters in the nation’s historical annals. Nevertheless, it’s not out of place to debate that there exists lack of universal acknowledgment of such contributions within the geographical division of the country.

  • Historically speaking and more specifically post-independence, people living in North of Vindhyas are more prominently exposed to the vagaries of wars many a times as against their compatriots living in South of Vindhyas. Primarily because our challengers are scattered along the Northern, Western and Eastern boundaries, respectively. For decades now, people along these boundaries have witnessed uncalled-for provocations, enemy aggressions, misadventures and other skirmishes which has been forestalled successfully by our Forces. Though at considerable cost to lives, livelihood and property since long. Fortunately, Southern part of our country continues to stay relatively free of enemy aggressions so far.

  • Having witnessed many misadventures / occurrences and tribulation from close quarters, inhabitants North of Vindhyas truly recognize and acknowledge with a greater sense of pride such significant contributions of our Uniformed Forces whenever opportunity presents itself. Yours truly has experienced and observed the differences in attitude first-hand for many years and I am a Southern inhabitant to boot too. Kindly note there’s no hidden agenda here to create nor find non-existent divisions amongst the countrymen over territorial habitation but to honestly deliberate factual happenings.
  • Thankfully, boundaries are blurring by the day and things are changing for the better what with ‘Nationalism’ garnering center stage largely due to the present dispensation’s embracing aggressive hyperbole on any matters nationalistic in nature. On its part, Southern India too has started warming up considerably going by the look of things. Way to go indeed!
