- The whole world is aware of how the Pakistani army establishment suffered great embarrassment when the Indian armed forces spectacularly foiled the enemy’s evil designs by launching Operation Sindoor, targeting terror factories and infrastructure deep inside their territories. The Pahalgam attack, resulting in 26 innocent lives being brutally killed, was always expected to be responded to with an appropriate counteraction by the Indian armed forces. And the Indian armed forces, spectacularly unleashed with military might, thereby ensured the Pakistani deep state’s erstwhile unfounded superiority complex was punctured for posterity. The successive Indian governments had shown restraint all these decades. Not anymore.

- As you are aware, the Pakistani army chief, Asim Munir, made an inflammatory speech days before the Pahalgam attack, largely based on religious beliefs and a done-to-death Kashmir narrative. The whole world is aware of how the Pakistani army controls the civilian government by holding all the key ministries under its firm grip. That the Pakistani economy is teetering on the brink is known worldwide around but the army continuing to receive exorbitant funds despite financial bailouts was considered ironic. But none spoke about it, except India. When the country itself is unable to ensure a decent enough living for citizens reeling under the impact of unchecked inflationary trends, and on top of it, allocating substantial funds for defence hardware is simply unfathomable.

- As expected, Operation Sindoor hit the Pakistani terror hideouts/infrastructure with such precision, calibrated, and targeted manner that the enemy was found almost stunned by the assault. That the Pakistani air defence systems could not stop the Indian counterattack deep inside their territory must have destroyed the morale of the forces. Furthermore, Pakistan’s attack on India with swarms of drones and other projectiles was successfully thwarted by the impregnable Indian air defence systems must have caused the Pakistani army to worry about their plans. In retaliation, Indian armed forces further scaled up the attack, hitting the airbases deep inside Pakistan was the last nail in the coffin. Little wonder, the desperate calls for a ceasefire ensued.

Yes, the adage that there are no takers for defeated but many takers for winners was proved yet again when the president of the USA, Donald Trump, took credit for the ceasefire even before the two warring sides made an announcement. Make no mistake, the Pakistani army was not only brutally defeated by the much superior firepower of the Indian military, but also grossly exposed the frailty in the opposition ranks in countering us. Though defeated and bruised, the Pakistani lame duck civilian government has now promoted army chief Asim Munir as Field Marshal for ostensibly winning the war against India. How fallacious, illogical, and amusing Pakistani leadership can stoop is out there in full public glare. Who will save Pakistan from going downhill?
