Gerald Butler is seriously in a mess. First we saw Gods of Egypt which was highly criticized by the critics and the fans alike and ended up being a disaster. And now the sequel to Olympus has fallen, and “London has fallen” is looking at a similar response.
Gerald Butler has already been panned by the critics for his upcoming movie London has Fallen because of the movie’s nonsensical violence, racism and poor plotting. Butler requires this movie to generate good revenue or else it wouldn’t be wrong to conclude that his acting career is almost over.
Gerald Butler – His Career Might Be Doomed
1.In “Olympus has fallen” he portrayed the character “Mike Banning” who is a secret service agent and is in charge of keeping the United States President safe.
2.In a scene, where he was outnumbered by 100 terrorists, Butler snarls that they should have brought more men.
3.This is Gerald Butler’s first real franchise if we do not count How to train your dragon. He had hit big in 2006, with the movie “300”.
4.He also starred in amazing-horrible romantic comedies. If you are his fan and want to know the bad news, then the bad news is that he wouldn’t be able to survive in this industry if he continues to such similar character portrayals.
5.The good news is that he has enough films in his pocket to pay off his rent. He has a thriller coming up called as “Den of Thieves” which is a drama about a bank heist that sees a thief caught between rival gang of criminals. We can just hope he doesn’t try to save the world in the film.
6.He is soon going to film Hunter Killer, which is again an action thriller where we see an American submarine commander sent deep in Russian waters to save the Russian president. Again, we can just hope he doesn’t try to save the world
Similar character portrayals and “Save the world” movies are getting the worst out of Gerald Butler. We can just hope he starts taking up some challenging roles, otherwise “RIP – The Career of Gerald Butler”
