Imagine how much difficulty one has to face when a person changes his/her name. And changing the city’s name leads to change in their peoples’ identities too! Looking at the history, one may find more than 100 Indian cities and towns which changed their names after Independence! Here a list of 20 such cities:

Often called Vizag, Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam adopted Vizagapatnam name shortly after independence. Later in 1987, it became Visakhapatnam and is the third largest city on the east coast!
