  • At the outset, let us not beat around the bush by merely looking at the subject headlines and rejoicing that society has altered its perspectives and outlooks overnight, shouldering responsibilities. Looking around the world would reveal that societies continue to be misogynistic, patriarchal, and male-dominated despite humankind’s humongous metamorphosis in the last few decades. Undeniably, women have managed to make their presence felt immensely in literally every other male-dominated field hitherto considered unsuitable for the former. None of the fields are left unrepresented by women in the present-day world, including being anointed to play combative roles in the military. Women have proved beyond doubt that they are second to none.

  • Of course, the representation of women in professional careers, as compared to their male counterparts, hasn’t really lived up to expectations, let alone match the figures. What are the pressing reasons for such underrepresentation in economic activities of various hues, though?  Women are the creators and sustainers of humanity by virtue of Mother Nature having conferred on them the ability to birth another being. This is the single-most important reason for women to play multiple roles, donning the hat of sisters, mothers, housekeepers, and, wherever matters, running the household professionally as well. And we also have innumerable women entrepreneurs having succeeded in shoring up businesses through sheer dint of diligence.

  • At the cost of sounding encomiums being showered, women have shown tremendous agility, worthwhile commitment, admirable determination, effortless guile/intelligence, immeasurable patience, and praiseworthy resilience/perseverance to deliver goods while running the household chores and managing professional responsibilities with elan. All those effusive praises should rightly adorn women, for what they undertake/carry out cannot be simply replicated by menfolk. We know it. A society will be progressing on the envisaged path only if women’s empowerment is truly reaslised for the betterment of all concerned. On the other hand, continued deprivation will pull society back from progressing on expected lines, no matter how much is humanly possible.

  • Undoubtedly, women have enough wherewithal, gumption, and traction to convert the potential into real action. The most palpable challenge faced by them is the age-old categorization that brackets them to play second fiddle in matters of businesses/decision-making roles. Running a family and household chores comes naturally to women. Hence, society too expects them to shoulder these mundane responsibilities by largely absolving men. Just because they bear children, it doesn’t confer on women the right to ensure that they grow up to become whatever they eventually will be. Men can share other chores of a family, including bringing up children and cooking/feeding as well. Let women run the show professionally. They will conquer the world.
