Strange Job Categories Seen Only In India

Do you often think that you have landed in a bad job? Well I guess you should re-think.

Just because your working hours are odd or you have a bad boss it doesn’t make your job bad, have you ever imagined about few people who work dead hard to earn a living, you might feel lot more better. There are few people who have to take up some really weird profession just to earn their living, you might feel lucky that you are not one of them.

Take a look at few of the strangest job categories that exist in India and appreciate these really hard working people –

 

 

1. Gravedigger

Guess what these gravediggers do, when someone dies they dig graves and help the bodies to rest perfectly in the pit, they also take out bones from the graves.

 

 

 

 

2. Sewage cleaner

This category is probably the worst job in the whole world, these people take of their shirt, booze up a little bit, and dive straight into the dirty drains to clean it up. I am sure no other job can be more deadly as this one.

 

 

3. Roadside ear cleaner

These people examine people’s ear sitting on the road; they clean the ear wax completely by using a long brass pick. Well this one is surely a tough job!

 

 

 

4. No Bird Zone: Flag waver

Bird Deterrents are hired in some hotels in Jaipur, these people are main job responsibility is to scare off pigeons from the hotel’s fountain , they do it by waving flags which have crossed-out bird sign.

 

 

 

5. Manual scavenging

This one is an illegal category of job but still exists. Mainly done by Dalits, where they clean human excrement from toilets of India’s high class family with their bare hands. It’s definitely a disgusting job to do.

 

 

 

 

 

6. Professional mourners

I am sure you haven’t heard of this before. In some parts of Rajasthan, women mourners are hired to cry and mourn out loud during the funerals. However it’s a very old custom but it’s a weird one .

 

 

 

 

7. Snake charmer
Very famous, I am sure you would have seen this in movies. Basically these people play the flute, and the king cobra dances. Its art but dangerous.

 

 

 

8. Fortune teller

These fortune tellers come with a parrot, so your future depends on this parrot. An amazingly smart parrot tells about your future by pulling out a card. So be it anything, love, life, work or when will you die, Our Tota Maharaj knows it all.

 

 

9. Laundrymen

Popularly known as Dhobis, they take care of all the laundry in the household. These people wash clothes, Irons them perfectly. Some Dhobi’s even provide home service, i.e. they pick and drop your clothes at your doorstep.

 

 

10. Doorman

How will you feel if you had to stand for 9 hours a day and open the doors for 1,000 people? This is exactly what our doorman’s do every day. Don’t they deserve a smile from everyone when they are doing jobs with a smile on their face always which no passer-by notices?

 

 

 

 

I am sure all must be feeling blessed after reading about these few job categories. We all should appreciate them for their hard work and always remember no work in this world is small or big. But we should respect them all as it’s a way that other person earns his/her living by working so hard.
