Of course, human ingenuity and an insatiable quest for inventions, innovativeness, growth, development, and inquisitiveness have unearthed some of the most epochal moments in the history of our existence. Those unparalleled human endeavors, constantly on the lookout for unexplored happenstances despite encountering insurmountable challenges, have propelled humankind to unimaginable territories often considered unbreachable. - As Mother Nature unravels herself, revealing whatever humankind is capable of accepting/digesting/assimilating and implementing, human resourcefulness always comes to the fore to further energize us in the form of an exhilarating invention. The revolutionary innovations in the field of information technology-driven digital applications/solutions have become so dynamic that it’s no longer a question of whether we are feeling overwhelmed, but what more we can expect that will further the cause of humanity. - The large language models (LLMs) driven artificial intelligence is the latest cutting-edge technology available to humankind, offering innumerable advancements/opportunities in some of the most critical verticals that could simply revolutionize our day-to-day living standards. So much so that, as reported recently, Albania has now appointed an AI minister in the cabinet, much to the disbelief of the global community. While it shows AI can be integrated into governance and undertake whatever was once considered an exclusive domain of humans, it also raises concerns about to what extent machines can be allowed to be a part of our routine existence. Agreed, the tiny Albania is fully focused on seeing its 2.8mn people join the EU by 2030.

- For membership, the EU set the Balkan state to obliterate global trafficking of drugs and weapons without graft, a humanly impossible criterion. Undeterred, Albania’s four-term PM simply turned away from man to machine. His new cabinet includes a non-human as minister for public procurement -Diella, meaning sun. The made-in-Albania Diella was incubated by the Agency for Information Society (AKSHI) as a virtual assistant and launched in Jan to help citizens on its e-governance platform, 95% services digitized. Diella is the world’s first bot minister and the fastest promotion ever from efficient clerk to the government cabinet. What’s Diella’s legal standing and accountability? Unknown. Albanians aren’t impressed. So are we, the global community.
