Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi faced a major embarrassment when he was interacting with the students of Mount Carmel college, a leading women’s college in Bengaluru. He had raised an instant poll on whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaigns like “Swach Bharat Abhiyan” and “Make in India” is working or not.
Rahul Gandhi was trying to slam Modi’s government but faced a major disappointment when the majority of the students said that both of the campaigns are working very effectively. Below is the video to tell you what exactly happened: –
Gandhi asked the students whether “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” or Clean India Mission is working, the students replied with quite an audible “Yes”. This didn’t end there, he went on to ask that is “Make in India” campaign working or not and the students again chanted a “Yes”.
It was quite obvious from the face of Gandhi that he was annoyed and he told them that his opinions do not match with the students and also added that the doesn’t clearly see any vision that the BJP has been trying to project.
This was the first interaction of Gandhi in the series of his outreach to students across various campuses in the country.
Later, while Rahul was talking to reporters he said the response of the students weren’t clear. On Swachh Bharat half of the room said nothing had happened while the other half had said something had happened. On make in India I think the majority said nothing had happened while the others said that somethings have happened.
After this kind of response, it gave an opportunity for BJP to talk about his disconnection with the youth. BJP Spokesperson told that when Rahul asked about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Make in India, the youths clearly told them that they believe that these campaigns were working. It left him in shock as because he had come to know about his disconnect with the common public and the youth. He also insulted him by telling forget the country he can’t even lead the youths of the country.
Sidhharth Nath Singh, BJP secretary said that this interaction should caution the Congress party that the Indian youth is not willing to accept the negativity which the congress party is trying to spread.
This snap poll done by Rahul Gandhi is a very good indicator that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign like “Swachh Bharat” and “Make in India” enjoys strong support in the youth.
Randeep Surjewala, Congress chief spokesperson said that this is the way the leader of the country should interact with the young men who may sometimes agree with him and sometimes disagree with him, unlike Narendra Modi.
All we can say that Rahul Gandhi you should buck up if you want to have a career in politics because with such reactions from the youth; who are the future of India, you have hard time in politics.
