Indore is not only the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, but it is also the food capital of the state! This city adds up a different flavour; especially for the foodie people. Here is some of the food stuff which one should not miss eating at Indore.

 

1. Poha Jalebi:Food

This is really a strange combo for the food lovers. Indore is probably the only city where people end up their day eating Pohas-Jalebis and starts their day with the same. It’s a kind of staple street food.

 

 

2. Variety of Kachori’s:

Food

Indore offers varied varieties of Kachori’s for its foodies. Moong Dal Kachori, Pyaz (Onion) ki Kachori and Fariyali Kachori are the most renowned ones.

 

 

 

 

3. Sabudana Khichdi:

FoodPreviously only known as a ‘fast snack’; this street food variant has made a huge impact and has become all season snack. This snack is made from Sabudana and a variety of Indori Namkeen is added to it.

Pani Puri known with various names in different parts of the country is the most popular food stuff found on the roadside stalls of Indore. Along with PaniPuri, PapdiChaat, Allu Tikkis and DahiVadas are the other delicious food to be eaten on these stalls.

 

 

5. Daal Bafle and Ladoo:

The famous Rajasthani dish Daal-Baati-Choorma is also found in Indore. This sweet and savoury main course is prepared with minor alterations and is very popular and an indulgent meal.

The list doesn’t end here. When it comes to winter; one cannot forget to eat Deep Fried Garadu. One of the delicious food stuffs of winter season is exclusively found in the Indore region. Also, hot milk with saffron and dry fruits known as Kesar Doodh is renowned for providing warmth and energy in the winters.

Chaat, BhuttekaKees, Malpuha, Gulabjamun, Rasgulla, Patties, Moong Dal Bhajiya and Imarti are the other food stuffs which one must try. Varied varieties of spicy sev, chiwda, mixture and much more of Namkeen products are world famous. Do try these, when you are next in Indore.
