The Rose River Loop Trail meanders through some of the magnificent waterfalls and streams and past large trees. It is one of the best places for hiking during the hot summers. The two major highlights of this trail is Rose River Falls and Dark Hollow Falls. Its a 4-mile circuit that begins at Fishers Gap Overlook.

Lewis Falls Trail is a 3.3-mile long loop trail. This trail follows the Appalachian Trail during a large portion of the hike. The major attraction here is the 81-feet high Lewis Falls over a rock ledge. The Lewis Falls is also considered as one of the most beautiful and magnificent waterfalls in Shenandoah National Park. This trail is rocky, steep and uneven in some areas.

The Upper Hawksbill Trail is a 2.1-miles long round trip. The major attraction here is the picturesque view from the top of the Hawksbill Mountain. This is also the highest point in the Shenandoah National Park, and is renowned for providing amazingly beautiful scenic views.

Taking the fire road and the Appalachian Trail back, the South River Trail can be hiked as a circuit. Stony Man Peak is the second highest point inside the Shenandoah National Park. Just like the Hawksbill Mountain, it also provides some of the amazing, wondrous and picturesque view. This 1.6-mile long trail is lollipop shaped, and gains about 340 feets of elevation!

Even, the Bearfence Mountain Trail is also a short yet challenging hike in Shenandoah National Park. Further, it provides a 360° view that extends over the surrounding mountains and valleys.
